July 2013: Doctors report that the number of people suffering from heat-related conditions and injuries is causing a burden on A&E departments. Heatstroke and sunstroke, dehydration, sunburn and injuries are on the rise, putting medics under pressure. Other common summer injuries include amputated toes in gardening accidents (yikes!) and falls from outdoor activities.
At our clinic, we’ve seen a rise in serious sunburn cases, skin conditions, headaches and other heat-related problems.
